On May 6, the Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (SHA), together with China Eastern Airlines and Air China, launched a voluntary cross-airline rebooking service on a trial basis for the express flight route between SHA and the Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK). The trial period will last until August.

Currently, this service applies only to one-way, single-segment, non-codeshare economy flights which are operated by Air China and China Eastern Airlines, with their flight numbers belonging to any of the aforementioned airlines. A passenger, if holding a ticket of which the fare has a discount of 40 percent or less, may switch to any other same-day flight operated by any of the two airlines after settling fare difference. If holding a ticket of which the fare has a discount of 20 percent or less, the passenger may be exempt from the service fee incurred only once. It should be noted any passenger who needs to rebook must, before the departure of his/her flight, complete the relevant procedures at the airline's designated counter in the check-in area, provided that he/she has no checked baggage and has not completed baggage check-in. For detailed information, please refer to the announcements of the airlines concerned.
