The 15th Beijing International Film Festival (BJIFF) will commence on April 18. This year's festival features four special activity sections, weaving diverse consumption scenarios together through film culture to deliver immersive, all-around cinematic life experiences.
The first section comprises food-tasting experiences for moviegoers. Consumers can search for "Beijing International Film Festival" (北京国际电影节) and "2025 BJIFF" (2025北影节) on Meituan (a Chinese online life service provider) to enjoy various discounts and sales promotions. A total of 31 participating cinemas will partner with over 300 nearby restaurants to offer exclusive discounts for moviegoers with ticket stubs. A "Taste of Beijing" cinema food guide will also be released. Three movie and food carnivals will be launched, namely a specialty street food court at Langyuan Station in Chaoyang District, the "Wukesong Film and Food Festival" in Haidian District, and a film-music-food carnival by Yanqi Lake in Huairou District.
The second section features 12 curated movie-themed travel routes. Ctrip will provide half-priced travel packages for two-day and 1-day trips in Beijing and complimentary half-day tours for the guests of the festival, as well as free tailored tour services for the judges. Tongcheng Travel will distribute 100,000 travel voucher packages, which can be claimed on the ticket purchase confirmation page after buying a ticket, allowing immediate discounts on flight and train tickets for traveling to and from Beijing.
In addition, 30 hotels and 72 homestays in Huairou District have been selected to offer discounts ranging from 12 to 50 percent. The district has also rolled out 13 "Celebrity-Approved Itineraries", as well as family-friendly and study tour routes, and launched a "Film-Themed Train to the Film Capital", connecting key scenic areas and Internet-popular tourist attractions.
The third section features promotional campaigns like limited-time discounts, instant discounts on ticket purchases, dedicated film zones, and a special BJIFF-themed zone. These will be launched citywide during the festival, covering over 270 cinemas with total discounts worth CNY 5 million.
The fourth section is the BJIFF Movie Cultural and Creative Carnival. Specifically, a fair selling creative cultural products will be opened at Langyuan Station in Chaoyang District. Over 30 museums will showcase new creative souvenirs and highly popular products. A carnival for the copyrighted anime works, films and TV productions will be hosted at Wukesong Wanda Plaza in Haidian District. For the first time, the festival's official creative cultural products will be available at the "Beijing Gifts" flagship store on Xiushui Street, with exclusive discounts offered to ticket-holding attendees of the festival.
In addition, the hosting parties of this year's BJIFF have joined hands with social media platforms such as Xiaohongshu and Weibo to initiate the "Daily Check-in Star" contest for the festival. Social media users are encouraged to post check-in notes themed around BJIFF and participate in daily rankings. The organizing committee will select users with the most-liked posts and award BJIFF-themed creative souvenirs.
