According to the Beijing General Station of Immigration Inspection, the number of the exits and entries of individuals through Beijing's ports exceeded 5 million as of April 6 this year, marking a 23 percent year-on-year increase. This indicates that the number of the exits and entries through the ports citywide surpassed the 5-million mark 19 days ahead compared with 2024.
Specifically, 1.3 million exits and entries were made by foreign nationals, of which 638,000 were entries, indicating an increase of 44 percent year-on-year. Nearly 310,000 entries by foreigners were made under visa exemption policies (including those entering with the 240-hour temporary entry permits), up 120 percent compared with the period before the relevant policies were introduced. Notably, 70 percent of the entries were for traveling, business activities, or visiting relatives, 1.5 times that of the number recorded during the same period last year.
During the Qingming Festival holiday this year, there were nearly 170,000 exits and entries through Beijing's ports, among which 30,000 entries were made by foreign nationals. On April 6, a total of 10,800 entries by foreigners through Beijing's ports were made, setting a new record for the number of entries by foreigners through the ports in a single day this year.
The Beijing General Station of Immigration Inspection has implemented a "double-row inspection" mode at Terminal 3 of the Beijing Capital International Airport, and arranged a specific inspection area for the 240-hour visa-free transit, effectively improving exit-entry processes efficiency. At the same time, it has worked with the relevant governmental authorities of Beijing to provide qualified foreign businesspersons arriving in Beijing with facilitated exit-entry services, and has pioneered the coordinated implementation of the facilitation measures regarding special visas and exit-entry services in China. The general station has also released the "Service Package for Foreign Experts in International Organizations and Overseas Talented Individuals Based in Beijing" with many institutions to help international organizations prosper in Beijing.
