Cultural Salon for Female Diplomats in China Held at Beijing Film Academy

On March 12, a cultural salon for female diplomats was held at the Beijing Film Academy (BFA) in Beijing. Organized by the Beijing Service Bureau for Diplomatic Missions (BDS), this event is the inaugural one of the "Hall of Crane Cultural Club for Diplomats", a key public diplomacy event series for this year. It aimed to celebrate the 115th International Women's Day through cinematic and artistic dialogues, presenting China's achievements in women's cause and the country's cultural confidence in the new era.

Mrs. Lafortune, Ambassador of Seychelles to China, stated that this event not only provides a platform for cultural exchanges but also highlights the roles Chinese women play and the strength they demonstrate in films. Mrs. Lafortune further remarked that their contributions to the Chinese film industry are inspiring global audiences, while their unique stories told through film scenes also fostered mutual understanding across nations.

Diplomatic envoys in China participating in the event also conversed with BFA's renowned directors, notable alumni, students and faculty members. Together they attended the intangible cultural heritage exhibitions to experience the charm of China's millennia-old culture. They also learned about the technological innovations in the film industry, such as those related to dubbing and cinematography, witnessing how technologies drive innovation in this traditional industry. Additionally, the envoys watched screenings of the films made by BFA's graduates, experiencing the artistic excellence of the contemporary Chinese cinema in the new era.
