Celebrate Chinese New Year at Beijing's Theme Parks

Where will you spend this Chinese New Year? Theme parks in Beijing are waiting for you, with colorful activities and local delicacies.

1.Universal Beijing Resort

The themed event of Universal Beijing Resort, Universal's Chinese New Year, invites you to join the festive fun and embrace the luck of the "snake"! During the event, Viper, the movie character from Kung Fu Panda, will be the themed icon for Year of the Snake at Universal Beijing Resort. Viper will be eager to greet guests after being transformed into a magnificent statue. A selection of Spring Festival delicacies, a limited-edition Kung Fu Panda Viper Tang Ren, and a commemorative Kung Fu Panda bucket made for Year of the Snake are all available to guests at the Universal's Chinese New Year Square. Universal Beijing Resort will also introduce a range of Chinese New Year's ticket packages and events.

2. Beijing Happy Valley

This year, Beijing Happy Valley has launched colorful activities to celebrate the Spring Festival. It has upgraded the ice rink of over 10,000 square meters for fantastic ice and snow amusements, such as snow tubing, mini tanks and trampolines, allowing visitors to enjoy themselves to the fullest. The Ice and Snow Town, featuring funny snow walls, frozen roses and a blue-and-white "fairy tale village", will take you to a mythical ice wonderland. There are also plenty of ice and snow performances, such as the winter-only ice and snow sweetheart float parade "The Light of the Dream" and luminous parade "Ice and Snow Carnival", expecting your presence. It has also prepared the adorable Egg Boy to add extra joy to the ice and snow world.

3. Beijing Shi Yuan International Tourism Resort

The Third Beijing Expo Lantern Art Festival has been ceremoniously launched! The China Garden integrates the characteristics of 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities, as well as Hong Kong SAR, Macao SAR and Taiwan region, creating a rich festive atmosphere. The China Pavilion, featuring panoramic immersive experience and hundreds of drones, opens a gateway to the fantasy world through time and space. There are also copper-pot long-table banquets, trendy snacks and delicious food from time-honored brands to celebrate the Chinese New Year. Meanwhile, splendid circus performances, Chinese-style adaptations, float parades and traditional folk performances provide an opportunity to fully appreciate the charm of Chinese culture in the bright lanterns.

4. Beijing Olympic Park

“Trendy Chaoyang – The 8th Olympic Forest Park Ice and Snow Carnival” has been officially unveiled. It offers a wide variety of exciting interactive ice and snow activities, such as snow tubing, snowmobiles, snow trampolines, snow tanks, and snow motorbikes, creating an ice and snow fantasy feast and allowing visitors to fully enjoy the fun of ice and snow during the Spring Festival.

5. Beijing WTown

Beijing WTown has launched more than ten Spring Festival themed activities. Additionally, there is a free admission offer. During the Spring Festival, Beijing WTown has planned two performances with 400 drones featuring a drone display customized for the Spring Festival and a simulated fireworks show by drones. Dragon and lion dances, China-Chic shows, gong and drum performances, and others will be rolled out within the area stretching from the square outside the Tourist Service Center to Riyuedao Square (日月岛广场). It also offers a variety of stage plays and numerous ice and snow activities, and a fireplace-centered gastronomical feast will be launched at Miaohui Square (Temple Fair Square) at the foot of the Great Wall.
