To better facilitate travel for foreigners in Beijing and bolster the city's image as a hub for international exchanges, several municipal departments, including Beijing Municipal Commission of Planning and Natural Resources, Beijing Municipal Administration of Government Services and Data Management, Beijing Foreign Affairs Office, and Beijing Municipal Education Commission, have jointly created the English City Map of Beijing. Starting today, the map will undergo a one-month trial run on the Beijing Platform for Common Geospatial Information Services (also known as "Tianditu Beijing"). This run aims to gather public feedback, which will be used to refine the map before its official launch.

English City Map of Beijing is available in both electronic and printed formats.

The electronic map features over 30,000 annotations, covering administrative areas, natural landmarks, transportation routes and hubs, government agencies, international organizations, educational and cultural institutions, medical facilities, sports and leisure venues, residential areas and hotels, commercial establishments, among others. To better serve foreign nationals, the electronic map also offers six additional thematic layers for the six most requested types of services, highlighting over 4,000 locations for accessing currency exchange, SIM cards, transit cards, identity documents, recommended driving routes, and tourist attractions services. These maps are designed to help foreigners with their work, life and travel in Beijing. Data from the English map will also be available on relevant government portals, map service platforms, and third-party urban life service platforms to enhance service access.

Printed maps are also available, including a map of Beijing, a map of Beijing's urban area, and a map of the capital's core area. The printed maps feature locations frequented by foreigners, such as airports, train stations, and tourist destinations. They also highlight locations of historical and cultural interest, such as the Beijing Central Axis and other World Heritage Sites. The electronic versions of these maps can be downloaded free of charge from the website of Tianditu Beijing.

We welcome user feedback for further improvement of the map. If you have any suggestions or recommendations, please contact us at xx3b@bism.cn.
