As the Spring Festival of 2025 approaches, Beijing is hosting over 1,000 consumer-oriented events under the theme "Colors of Beijing in Four Seasons – Blessings Across the Capital".
Nearly 100 major malls, shopping centers, supermarkets, and chain brands in Beijing have set up special sections for the Spring Festival goods, offering discounts and other promotions. A series of the Spring Festival fairs, such as the Old Beijing Spring Festival Fair, Xinfadi Spring Festival Fair, and the Grand Canal Fair have opened. The "2025 Beijing Online Spring Festival Fair" has been launched, with platforms such as JD.com, Meituan, Douyin, and Kuaishou offering discount coupons for the festival goods.
On January 20, Beijing officially introduced a subsidy policy for purchases of three types of digital products: smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches (or smart wristbands). Consumers can go through real-name verification via the "Jingtong" mini-program to receive the subsidies redeemable after spending certain amounts at the stores of the enterprises covered by this policy, both online and offline.
The event "Celebrating the Spring Festival on Wangfujing's Golden Street" collaborated with time-honored brands to introduce highlights for the Spring Festival in the Wangfujing business district. The Spring Festival Carnival in Moshikou, the featured temple fair at Chang'an Paradise Walk in Mentougou District, and other events will immerse consumers in Beijing's festive vibe during their shopping hours.
Also, a series of gourmet-themed events such as the "Spring Festival's Eve Dinner Ranking" and the "Spring Festival Food Gala" are underway to celebrate the Spring Festival. Shijingshan District, Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, and various other districts have distributed dining coupons to encourage consumption.
In addition, Beijing also released "Delighting Shopping - Map of Commercial and Consumption Spaces in Beijing" and "Good Appetite Tonight - Map of Nighttime Dining Locations and Characteristic Food and Beverage Blocks in Beijing", which display not only the distribution of international consumption experience areas, urban consumption centers, and regional vibrant consumption circles, but also 29 specialty dining streets scattered over Dongcheng, Xicheng, Chaoyang, Haidian, Tongzhou, and other districts.
Numerous time-honored brands and emerging brands are offering gift boxes of the Spring Festival goods and other unique new products. For instance, Tong Ren Tang's creative aromatherapy products and wellness foods are on sale at its "Central Axis Food Gifts" experience store on Qianmen Street. Other highlights include herbal sachets from Baita Temple Pharmacy, gift sets from Lai Jin Yu Xuan Restaurant, the block figurine series "Golden Year of Snake - Good Luck Cards" of POP MART, and the "She Dwen Dwen", a special "Year of the Snake" version of the mascot "Bing Dwen Dwen".
