The Third Science Fiction Planet Competition (the "Competition" for short), a comprehensive international sci-fi competition independently initiated by China, began its call for entries on January 7. With a prize pool of CNY 6.65 million, the Competition will select nine champions and five candidates for further cultivation. The submission deadline is on February 7, 2025.

As a key part of the 9th China Science Fiction Convention in 2025, the Competition covers three main categories: Sci-Fi Technology, Sci-Fi Literature, and Sci-Fi Works. There are nine subcategories, including established fields such as Sci-Fi Innovation Technology, Sci-Fi Experience Technology, Sci-Fi Product Innovation, Sci-Fi Long Novels, Sci-Fi Medium Novels, Sci-Fi Short Novels, and Sci-Fi Film and Television, as well as emerging fields such as Sci-Fi Games and Sci-Fi Scenarios, which were newly added this year. Additionally, the Competition introduces the "Sci-Fi New Star Support Program" aimed at discovering new literary and audiovisual works and the emerging talented minds that create them. For the first time, it will also focus on unpublished sci-fi literary works including scripts, as well as online films, miniseries, and short films.

The Competition encourages open submission. Participants can submit their entries via the official WeChat account of the Competition (科幻星球大赛) or its official website (www.sfpaward.com). After the submission deadline, the review committee will conduct independent evaluations, and the winners will be announced at the opening ceremony of the 9th China Science Fiction Convention in 2025.
