Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei to Jointly Hold New Year's Countdown Events on December 31 for First Time!

As the New Year's Day and Spring Festival of 2025 draw near, Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei will jointly organize the "2025 Cultural and Tourism Activities for Spring Festival."

These activities comprise of six parts.

Part One: New Year and Spring Festival welcoming activities, mainly the New Year countdown event and Spring Festival Galas. On the night of December 31, Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei will for the first time jointly kick off countdown activities to the New Year. The main venues are in Beijing's Shougang Park, Tianjin Nankai District's Drum Tower Square and Hebei's Ancient City Shijiazhuang Zhengding. Residents in these three places will welcome the New Year together via video link. Moreover, these three places will co-produce the Spring Festival Galas for the first time, including BRTV's Spring Festival Gala, Tianjin Comedy Spring Festival Gala and Hebei Opera Spring Festival Gala. These TV shows will be synchronically broadcast in prime time on the evenings of the first to the third day of the Chinese Lunar New Year.

Part Two: Temple Fair series activities. Ten representative temple fairs from the three regions have been selected for inclusion in the event, including five in Beijing, two in Tianjin and three in Hebei. These ten temple fairs will also feature local time-honored brands and intangible cultural heritage products and traditional New Year's goods. Distinctive folklore performances will also be staged.

Part Three: Ice and Snow series activities. To create a brand of "Happy Ice and Snow Tourism Season", this event has selected high-quality snow and ice sports resources from the three places. Four major ice and snow tourism scenes, eight ice and snow themed tourism routes, as well as the "Most Beautiful Ski Resort in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei" will be promoted, allowing visitors to enjoy the passion and fun of ice and snow.

Part Four: Historical and cultural themed tours. A total of 30 themed tourism routes will be launched, including the Beijing Central Axis, Tianjin Wudadao, and Hebei Dingzhou Ancient City.

Part Five: "Celebrating the Spring Festival in Museums" series activities. By pooling the premium resources of museums in these three places, this event will curate over 400 high-level exhibitions and launch six museum-themed tour routes.

Part Six: The "New Year Greetings" series activities. Literary artists from Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei will be invited to the sub-districts, towns and villages, especially those in the border areas of the three regions, to give New Year's greetings to the local residents and workers. In addition, 40 key activities in various forms will be organized, including giving Spring Festival couplets as a present, art-performing mass celebrations, and Artist Teams Entering the Communities.
