On November 28, Forbes China officially announced the results of the "2024 Forbes China's Evaluation of Consumption Competitiveness of Central Business Districts (CBDs)" at the 2024 Jiefangbei Forum. Beijing CBD once again ranks first nationwide.
Centered around two core themes: "Urban International Development" and "Multi-Dimensional Consumption Innovation", this evaluation utilizes a multi-dimensional evaluation system across nearly 30 comprehensive indicators. It aims to comprehensively outline the development process of different cities through a professional perspective and to examine innovative strategies and ground-breaking paths for the construction of international consumption center cities.
Beijing CBD is an internationally renowned business district and one of Beijing's four major international consumption experience zones. It is home to over 10,000 foreign-funded enterprises, housing 70 percent of Beijing's international financial institutions, 80 percent of international organizations and business associations, 90 percent of international media outlets, and nearly 100 percent of embassies stationed in China. The number of regional headquarters of multinational companies has increased to 118.
So far, there are four stores piloting the "immediate tax refund upon purchase" service in Beijing CBD, covering over 1,000 international consumer brands. The district is also home to about 60 percent of Michelin and Black Pearl restaurants and nearly 40 percent of the cafes in the city.
