The 2024 Beijing Chaoyang International Light Festival will be held from October 18 to kicked off on October 18 and will run until November 10. The festival features more than 40 lighting installations, 13 venues for light and shadow performances, and magnificent light shows on Chaoyang District's iconic buildings.

This year's light festival presents brilliant light displays in various areas including the Olympic Central District, the Liangma River Cultural and Economic Belt, Grand Wangjing, Chaoyangmen Outer Street, CBD (Central Business District), and Gaobeidian. Through combination of digital and lighting technologies, this festival aims to bring visitors interactive experiences of lighting art. The Olympic Central District has created iconic lighting landscapes such as the "Gate of Time and Space" (时空之门) and the "Rainbow Avenue" (虹光大道). Meanwhile, the Liangma River Cultural and Economic Belt has set up more than 50 artistic lighting scenes. To give visitors more interactive experiences, this year's festival has designed a number of immersive interactive areas, such as those focusing on lawn lighting, walkway light projection, and lighting and sculpture works.

More than 10 sports activities such as the Tennis Night MINI Match and the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) games will be held during the festival. In addition, the festival will, together with over 10 key areas and business districts such as China Central Place Business District, create the "Amazing Chaoyang 2024 – Light and Shadow Consumption Carnival".
In the Olympic Central District, Taste of CHAOYANG Food Fest, an automobile culture carnival, Beijing Marathon, and other events will be unveiled one after another. In the Liangma River Cultural and Economic Belt, besides the usual cruise tours, Pop Mart Cuteness Market (泡泡玛特怪可爱市集) and other events are also ready to give locals and tourists a wonderful experience. In addition, areas like CBD, Grand Wangjing Business District, Gaobeidian, and Chaowai UIC will launch film-themed fairs, the 2nd Children's Light Festival of Donghu Subdistrict, light-and-shadow swing dancing, and other events.
