Beijing has installed across its key public places nearly 7,000 Automated External Defibrillators (AED), which are now connected to the 120 emergency command and dispatch system through a digital AED map. These AEDs, along with trained personnel, have successfully resuscitated individuals experiencing sudden cardiac arrest on multiple occasions.

Beijing has established a pre-hospital medical emergency network, consisting of the Beijing Emergency Medical Center, district emergency centers, and first-aid stations covering both urban and rural areas. A total of 472 pre-hospital emergency medical facilities have been standardized, representing a 239.56 percent increase compared to 10 years ago.

Beijing has expanded its emergency call options by developing an application and a WeChat mini program for first aid, which allow for QR code scanning and one-click calling for those with hearing impairments. The average response time for 120 emergency calls has been reduced to around 12 minutes, which is less than half of what it was a decade ago.
