With rich categories and distinctive features, Beijing's museums have formed the largest museum cluster in China. According to Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau, in 2023, 11 new museums were registered in Beijing, and 27 quasi-museums were officially opened. Beijing now has a total of 226 registered museums recording more than 80 million visits throughout the year.
