Panamanian Embassy in China Launches a Cultural Exchange Event in Cooperation with College of Foreign Languages of Capital Normal University and Beijing Gucheng Middle School

Recently, the Embassy of the Republic of Panama in China, the College of Foreign Languages of the Capital Normal University, and Beijing Gucheng Middle School jointly hosted a cultural exchange event titled "Storyteller: Oral Narration by Carlos Fong". The event aims to strengthen cultural exchanges between China and Panama, broaden students' horizons, and promote international cooperation in the field of education.
 

At the symposium, Zhao Feng, Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of Shijingshan District People's Government of Beijing Municipality, hoped to use education and culture as links to continuously expand the channels in the field of non-governmental diplomacy, and looked forward to strengthening the non-governmental friendship and educational cooperation between China and Panama through such events.
 

Lin Leguang, Principal of Beijing Gucheng Middle School, highlighted the school's commitment to the holistic development of students and the cultivation of their intercultural communication skills. Lin further stated that the school would promote youth cultural exchanges between China and Spanish-speaking countries with greater confidence and openness.
 

Rigoberto Castillo Gonzalez, Minister of the Panamanian Embassy in China, said in his speech that although China and Panama are separated by vast oceans, cultural exchanges bring people's hearts closer. He underscored the significance of exchanges and cooperation in the fields of culture and education between China and Panama, hoping that the event would enhance mutual understanding in the two fields and lay a solid foundation for future friendly cooperation.
 

Yang Ling, an Assistant Dean and Head of the Spanish Department of the College of Foreign Languages of the Capital Normal University, introduced the college's strengths and achievements in promoting intercultural exchanges and international cooperation, as well as in Spanish language education. She believes that the event would help students gain a deeper understanding of Panamanian culture and literature, further enhance cultural integration and mutual learning between the two countries, and inject new vitality into bilateral cooperation in the field of education.
 
 

Professor Carlos Fong, a Panamanian writer, delivered a great presentation titled "Panama: Storyteller" and interacted with the students. The students from the Spanish class at Beijing Gucheng Middle School also presented an impressive cultural performance.
