According to Customs statistics, Beijing's imports and exports in the first quarter of 2024 reached CNY 909.36 billion, marking a 2.3 percent rise year-on-year and contributing 8.9 percent to the national total. While setting a new high for the same period in history, Beijing's foreign trade volume is showing a positive trend month by month.

In March alone, Beijing's foreign trade broke two records consecutively. The monthly import-export value hit CNY 329.83 billion, representing a year-on-year growth of 2.8 percent and the highest for the same period historically. The number is also the peak monthly import-export value since December 2022, exceeding the national level.

For imports, Beijing leads the nation in medicinal materials and pharmaceutical imports. For exports, the capital city's mobile phone and automobile industries are actively engaging in overseas trade. First-quarter foreign trade data shows that Beijing's foreign trade is vibrant, with steady volumes and enhanced quality, accompanied by continuous emergence of business patterns and models.
