On the morning of January 15 (UTC+1), China and Switzerland announced in Switzerland the completion of a joint feasibility study on upgrading the China-Switzerland Free Trade Agreement (FTA). Both sides agreed to support the prompt initiation of formal FTA upgrade negotiations. Within this year, there will be a new round of China-Switzerland strategic dialogues at the foreign minister level, meetings of working groups on finance and energy, dialogues on education policies, as well as consultations on UN Security Council affairs. The two countries also intend to seize the opportunity of the 75th anniversary of their diplomatic ties next year to enhance cultural exchanges.

China will grant unilateral visa-free treatment to Switzerland, and in return, Switzerland will provide more visa facilitation for Chinese citizens, as well as Chinese enterprises investing in Switzerland.
