22nd International Student Film and Video Festival Concludes in Beijing

The 22nd International Student Film and Video Festival (ISFVF) recently wrapped up in Beijing. The short film "Suitcase" from Sepehr Art University in Isfahan, Iran, clinched two prestigious awards: the Best Fiction Award and the UNESCO Chair Special Award. Two other films, "Lights" from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, Czech Republic, and "Men in Blue" from the University of Texas at Austin, USA, were honored with the Special Jury Prizes. Beijing Film Academy's short film "Where Do Ants Sleep at Night", directed by Wei De'an, a young director, secured both the Best Director and Best Cinematography awards.

This edition of the festival set a new record, receiving 2,360 submissions from 95 countries and regions globally, out of which 76 exceptional works were shortlisted. This year's festival also welcomed the first-ever international jury panel.

Initiated by the Beijing Film Academy, the festival aims to encourage young creators in China and other countries to create more short films, and to promote exchanges among these up-and-coming filmmakers.
