During this year's "double holidays" period (from September 29 to October 6) of the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day this year, Beijing's museums, based on their permanent collections, have organized a total of 126 exhibitions and activities relevant to the two celebrations, comprising 40 exhibitions and 86 activities covering various aspects including culture, technology, history, art, and more.

For the coming "double holiday" period, some popular museums have prepared "Online Museum" packages. The Palace Museum offers digital products such as "Palace Museum Exhibitions", "Forbidden City 365", "Panoramic Forbidden City" and "Digital Cultural Relics Library". The National Museum of China has its "National Museum Invites You to View Exhibitions Online" brand, aggregating over 160 themed webpages, 81 virtual exhibition halls, more than 130 short videos, and other high-quality content. The National Natural History Museum of China utilizes holistic spatial 3D views and panoramic image technology to present a virtual exhibition hall. The Capital Museum has created the "Capital Museum Digital Publishing" project, allowing visitors to view exquisite books and high-precision 3D scanned collection items through the "Capital Museum" (首都博物馆) App.

Apart from some popular museums like the Palace Museum, the National Museum of China, and the Military Museum of the Chinese People's Revolution, most museums in Beijing have recently canceled their reservation systems. Visitors can purchase tickets on-site without reservation or directly enter the museum. They can still choose to buy tickets online in advance. To address the issues of some museums retaining reservation systems, which release tickets at unreasonable periods, the periods for them to release tickets have all been adjusted to between 8:00 to 22:00.

In response to visitors' demand for nighttime visits, some museums are extending their opening hours during the "double holiday" period. From October 1 to 5, Beijing World Art Museum in the China Millennium Monument will stage nighttime performances. Museums such as Tsinghua University Art Museum, the Ancient Bell Museum in Dazhong Temple, Beijing Dajue Temple and Tuancheng Management Office (Tuancheng Martial Arts Performing Hall), Xu Beihong Memorial Museum, and many other museums will also host nighttime activities. Visitors interested in any of the aforementioned museums can register in advance to experience the pleasure of touring museums at night.
