Starting from September 8, 2023, the processing time for work permits and residence permits for expatriates in Beijing will be reduced to just five working days.

As of February 1 this year, the "two permits joint processing 2.0" service has been officially expanded to cover all foreign individuals working in Beijing, shortening the processing time to just five to seven working days, while the latest upgrade of this service will further reduce the processing time to five working days for all applicants. This enhancement, available at 15 designated "two permits" service windows across the city, will help facilitate the recruitment and employment of foreign talent by local employers in Beijing.
