The first hydrogen-powered demonstration project in Beijing E-Town, themed "Green Movement from Hydrogen," held its launch ceremony on July 25.
The site featured 20 hydrogen-powered buses equipped with newly developed hydrogen fuel cell systems by the company "Gantang Travel." These buses will be used for morning and evening commutes in the Beijing E-Town, serving both companies and employees.
This project was selected as part of the "2022-2023 Beijing Fuel Cell Vehicle Demonstration and Application Project."
Led by Higer Bus, the initial phase of this demonstration project landed in Beijing E-Town.
Gantang Travel placed an order for 20 hydrogen-powered buses for operations, with the fuel cell systems provided by Innoreagen.
These soon-to-be deployed hydrogen buses are 12 meters long, can carry 50 passengers, and are equipped with Innoreagen's 115kW hydrogen fuel cell system. A single hydrogen refueling can cover a distance of 400 kilometers.
Compared to traditional buses, hydrogen fuel cell buses have no carbon emissions, making them significant for reducing air pollution, enhancing urban environments, and lowering energy consumption.
"As a company that offers customized shared bus services with new energy sources, Gantang Travel's collaboration with Higer Bus and Innoreagen will bring a safer and environmentally friendly commuting method for the office workers in Beijing E-Town," remarked Li Chuangda, general manager of Gantang Travel.
Qi Zhigang, CTO of Innoreagen said they are committed to the development of hydrogen fuel cells. They will ensure the delivery of more vehicles, contributing to the creation of an 'E-Town model' for promoting and applying hydrogen fuel cells in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
With the launch of this project, companies have already begun customizing hydrogen-powered buses for their employees' commuting needs.
In the future, Gantang Travel plans to operate hydrogen-powered commuter buses between Beijing E-Town and Fangshan district, allowing citizens to inquire and experience rides through the company's mobile app, further optimizing the commuting situation among various industrial parks.
