To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Beijing and Buenos Aires, a "Beijing Day" event was recently held at the General San Martin Cultural Center in Buenos Aires. Liu Wei, Deputy Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, Francisco Resnicoff, Deputy Secretary of International Relations, City of Buenos Aires, and Sun Yi, Minister-Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Argentina, attended the event.

Co-hosted by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and the Government of the City of Buenos Aires, activities on the day included artistic performances, intangible cultural heritage project shows and so on, all of which vividly demonstrated the charm of Beijing's unique integration of tradition and modernity.

Since the sister-city relationship was established 30 years ago, Beijing and Buenos Aires have been engaged in numerous practical exchanges and cooperation in such fields as personnel exchanges, cultural exchanges, and economic and trade cooperation, with fruitful results.

Mr. Francisco Resnicoff said that the event helped further deepen mutual understanding between the two sides and enhance the friendship between the people of the two cities. Buenos Aires attaches great importance to its sister-city relationship with Beijing. Over the years, the two sides have enjoyed frequent exchanges and interactions across various fields as friendly relations have continuously developed. Mr. Resnicoff believes that the two sides will work hand in hand over the next 30 years to create a better future and achieve a long-lasting friendship and sustainable development.
