If you are a sports lover, you will be delighted to visit this new sports venue in Miyun District of Beijing! An obsolete production factory located at No. 20 Shuiyuan West Road of Miyun Park of Zhongguancun Science Park is now equipped with brand-new badminton nets, a professional-level PVC floor for badminton players, and an indoor football pitch, putting on an entirely new look that reminds you of anything but a place where heavy machines once roared.

Once owned by Beijing Lida Plastic Manufacturing Company for producing safety helmets, it has remained unused for years and lost its market value long ago. However, Miyun has been exploring ways to bring this old factory to life. With a large space and a high roof, it serves as an ideal place for a sports venue. Therefore, Beijing Miyun District Sports Bureau initiated plans for part of the deserted factories in Miyun Park of Zhongguancun Science Park, conducted multiple field studies and site investigations there, and finally decided on a construction plan through which this helmet factory was transformed into a sports and fitness venue. The construction project consisted of one five-a-side football pitch, one indoor badminton court, and one table tennis court. Covering a total construction area of 1,085 square meters, this venue can meet the fitness needs of all age groups. Under construction at an accelerating pace, the venue is expected to be completed by the end of May. In the future, Miyun District will bridge modern urban blocks with time-honored ones via sports to provide citizens with fitness experiences wherever they go.
