On March 1, the Basket and Badminton Stadium (address: near the West 5th Ring Road, Lugou Bridge North Road, Shijingshan District, Beijing) located at Beijing Winter Olympic Park opened to the public for trial operation. The stadium was originally a former tire warehouse that has been renovated into a space of about 3,300 square meters. The stadium offers badminton and basketball facilities for diversified activities, and visitors are encouraged to participant in. Future projects located at the base camp of the Winter Olympic Park will offer space for other sports and fitness activities such as football and tennis.

The stadium has two floors: the first floor is mainly for basketball and badminton courts, and also contains supporting facilities such as cafes, rest areas, equipment rental areas and changing rooms, and the second floor is a semi-open rest area.

The stadium is a modifiable venue, which can be simply altered into six indoor basketball courts or 22 badminton courts according to the needs of visitors. FIBA-certified wooden floors have been adopted across the stadium, which can effectively protect people from injury.
