Sibos, or SWIFT International Banking Operations Seminar, is a landmark international conference in the financial industry organized by SWIFT. The Sibos seminars have been held alternately by international financial centers in Europe, America, and Asia, and have been successfully held for 44 sessions since 1978. Sibos 1991 and Sibos 2009 were held in Chinese Hong Kong. Sibos 2022 was held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and Sibos 2023 will be held in Toronto, Canada, this September. Every year, about 7,000 to 9,000 financial executives and experts from more than 150 countries and regions participate in the seminar, covering financial institutions such as commercial banks and securities companies, as well as their partners. As an important platform for the communication, cooperation, business development, and image display of global financial counterparts, Sibos is known as the "Olympic Games" in the financial world.

After four years of continuous efforts, Beijing is announced to host Sibos 2024. This is an important milestone in the opening up of China's financial industry, and it's of great significance to stress Beijing's strategic role defined as the four centers and the city’s function of the national financial management center. It is also an important opportunity to show the image of Beijing as the capital city of a big country, and demonstrate that China's financial industry will unswervingly open wider to the outside world. It will promote Chinese financial institutions to have deeper exchanges with their global counterparts, lead and drive the digital transformation of finance, and make China's contribution to the development of the global financial industry.
