Peking Opera, also known as the "national opera"and Pingxi,Jingxiin Mandarin, is Chinese operas'quintessenceand the most influential opera genre in the country. Beijing's Xicheng District is consideredthe birthplace of Peking Opera. Nowadays, the current generationare not that enthusiastic about the opera, so the sector, especially at its birthplace, is in need of rejuvenation and renovation. Over the years, with the support of all sides, Xicheng District has introduced new crossover plays, promoted Peking Opera in campus, and brought Peking Opera into people's lives.
