On November 20, the Hospital Management Institute of Fudan University released the 2021 Comprehensive Rankings of Chinese Hospitals and the 2021 National Comprehensive Rankings of Clinical Specialties of Chinese Hospitals. Peking Union Medical College Hospital topped the Comprehensive Rankings of Chinese Hospitals for the 13th consecutive year.

The top ten of the 100 hospitals in the 2021 Comprehensive Rankings of Chinese Hospitals, in order of ranking, are Peking Union Medical College Hospital, West China Hospital of Sichuan University, Chinese PLA General Hospital, Ruijin Hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine, Zhongshan Hospital of Fudan University, Tongji Hospital of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Union Hospital of Tongji Medical College of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Huashan Hospital of Fudan University, the First Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University, and the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine.

Various hospitals from Beijing Municipality ranked first in some of the 42 clinical specialties in the 2021 National Comprehensive Rankings of Clinical Specialties of Chinese Hospitals. Peking Union Medical College Hospital took first place in the following nine clinical specialties: pathology, rheumatology, gynecology and obstetrics, general surgery, neurology, nuclear medicine, emergency medicine, intensive care, and allergies.

Chinese PLA General Hospital ranked first in three clinical specialties, namely medical ultrasound, health control and urinary surgery.

Beijing Jishuitan Hospital topped the rankings in orthopedics.

Beijing Chest Hospital of Capital Medical University ranked first in the tuberculosis specialty.

Peking University Sixth Hospital took first place in psychiatry.

Peking University Hospital of Stomatology topped the rankings in stomatology.

Beijing Hospital led the field in geriatrics.

Peking University Third Hospital took first place in clinical pharmacy and reproductive medicine.

Beijing Tiantan Hospital of Capital Medical University ranked first in neurosurgery.

Peking University First Hospital topped the rankings in nephrology.

Beijing Children's Hospital of Capital Medical University ranked first in pediatric surgery.

Fuwai Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences took first place in two clinical specialties, namely cardiac surgery and angiocardiopathy.

The Cancer Hospital of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences came in first in thoracic surgery and oncology.
