On the morning of September 26, 2022, the arrangement of a flower basket at the center of the Tiananmen Square and 14 thematic flower terraces along Chang'an Avenue was fully completed. Many citizens and tourists have come to the square to take photos. So, is a reservation needed for the visit? The answer is: Yes.

Notice: Since December 15, 2021, visiting Tiananmen Square has required a real-name reservation. Both individual and group tours need to make reservations 1-9 days in advance. With a successful reservation, visitors can enter the square after a security check with their identity documents, green codes on their Beijing Health Kits, and 72-hour negative nucleic acid testing results.

Reservation Process:

1. Log on to the "The People's Government of Beijing Municipality-Tiananmen Management Committee (北京市人民政府天安门地区管理委员会)" portal and make a reservation.

2. Search for "Tiananmen Square Visit Reservation (天安门广场预约参观)" WeChat mini-program to make a reservation.

3. Search the "京城之约" WeChat mini-program, "北京通" app, "Beijing Daily (北京日报)" app, or "BRTV (北京时间)" app to make a reservation.

Visitors who have made reservations for visiting the Tiananmen Rostrum, Chairman Mao Zedong Memorial Hall, the National Museum of China, the Palace Museum, Beijing Zhongshan Park and the Beijing Working People's Cultural Palace can enter Tiananmen Square directly with their reservation records on that day, without making another reservation.

According to the People's Government of Beijing Municipality-Tiananmen Management Committee, the Tiananmen Rostrum is not yet open to the public. Please pay attention to the official website for more information, or call (8610) 86409660 for consultancy.
