Yuanmingyuan Park, Former Residence of Soong Ching Ling in Beijing, and Beijing Planetarium Free for Minors

Yuanmingyuan Park (the Old Summer Palace), the Former Residence of Soong Ching Ling in Beijing and Beijing Planetarium recently announced that they would offer free admission to visitors under the age of 18.

On December 6, Yuanmingyuan Park announced that it would launch a pilot program offering free admission to all minors that includes access to Yuanmingyuan Park, Xiyanglou Area (Ruins of the European Style Palace), and the Old Summer Palace Panorama Model Exhibition. Previously, Yuanmingyuan Park was open free of charge to children under 6 years of age or under 1.3 meters in height as well as primary and middle school students with group reservations. As of December 13, free ticket booking for minors can be made through the official Wechat account of Yuanmingyuan Park or the "圆明园门票" (Yuanmingyuan Tickets) mini-program.

On December 6, Beijing Planetarium also announced that as of December 8, visitors under the age of 18, seniors over 60, active-duty military personnel, police, firefighters and students of firefighting academies would be able to pay a visit here for free with valididentification (reservation required).

On November 29, the Former Residence of Soong Ching Ling announced that it would offer free admission to visitors under the age of 18 on all open days. It had previously been open free of charge to children under 6 years of age or under 1.2 meters in height as well as primary and middle school students with group reservations on Tuesdays.
