Beijing to Open Up 2,200+ Community Health Service Institutions Designated for Medical Insurance

According to a recent notice jointly released by Beijing Municipal Medical Insurance Bureau, Beijing Municipal Health Commission, and Beijing Civil Affairs Bureau, starting July 1, all personnel covered by Beijing's basic medical insurance for urban employees and urban and rural residents will be able to seek medical assistance directly from nearby designated community health service providers, with all relevant medical expenses duly covered by medical insurance without having to register with selected institutions in advance.

After the notice takes effect, 2,200+ designated community health service providers in Beijing will serve as designated medical institutions for all personnel covered by Beijing's basic medical insurance for urban employees and urban and rural residents. Residents will be duly served at all the institutions without prior registrations. Foreigners in Beijing covered by the insurance will be entitled to the same privileges.
