Biodiversity is an environmental issue of common concern to all countries. When General Secretary Xi Jinping of the CPC Central Committee attended the first phase of the 15th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (COP15), he delivered a keynote speech and put forward the vision of harmonious coexistence between human beings and nature while calling upon the world to work together to build a community of all life on Earth. To further play the capital's leading role in biodiversity protection and in the building of a "green Beijing", and also to promote the nationwide action on biodiversity protection, Beijing People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries has been now collaborating with the following institutions to jointly hold the "Colorful World" International Youth Painting Invitational Exhibition 2022 (hereinafter referred to as the Exhibition): Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Beijing Publicity Center for Ecological and Environmental Protection of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the Beijing Municipal Government, Beijing Women's Federation, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Beijing Municipal Education Commission, China National Film Museum, Beijing NGO Network for International Exchanges, Beijing Publicity Center for Ecological and Environmental Protection, Hebei People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, Tianjin People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, etc.

Themed "Protect biodiversity and build a shared future for all life on Earth", the Exhibition is open to young people from all over the world to collect paintings and short videos. Since its launch in May, the event has drawn wide attention from Chinese and overseas media. By early August, more than 500 reports have been published on Chinese and foreign media platforms. Over 40 national friendship organizations, overseas Chinese organizations and more than 1,000 schools and art institutions nationwide have started to organize young people to participate in the Exhibition. The organizing committee has received nearly 40,000 original paintings.

Famous director Wu Jing, Zhu Xiao，Professor and Deputy Dean of the school of Environment and Natural Resources of Renmin University of China, UNCCD Land Ambassador Kwon Byong Hyon (former ambassador to China), Director Kim Jin Gon of the Korean Cultural Center in China, Director of the Madagascar-China Friendship Association General Zuha, CEO of Nouvelles D'Europe Zhang Xiaobei, BRTV host Zhu Yijing and other personages from all walks of life now serve as advocates of the "Colorful World" International Youth Painting Invitational Exhibition for biodiversity protection. They've recorded videos that call for everyone to participate in the Exhibition and protect biodiversity together! Young people from all over the world are welcome to participate in the video relay to jointly protect the shared community of all life on Earth!

The opening and awarding ceremony of the Exhibition will be held in November, 2022, and leaders of the organizing committee, award-winning representatives, Chinese and foreign media are being invited. In addition, during the second phase of the COP15, outstanding paintings by Chinese young drawers will be presented to foreign guests as souvenirs.
