On July 20, the 2024 Sports for All Online Games kicked off at Shougang Park in Shijingshan District.

This year's online games sees the participation from sports administrative departments in more than 15 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities in China, over 40 sports management centers under the General Administration of Sport of China (GASC), and various national sports associations. In collaboration with over 70 Internet platforms, the event is set to organize no less than 300 activities, providing a broad online arena for public involvement in extensive fitness-for-all activities.

The Sports for All Online Games, first launched in 2022, embraces the principles of "openness and sharing, innovation and integration". Utilizing the "Internet + Sports" approach, the event strives to create a multi-dimensional platform for public physical fitness activities.

This edition of the games adopts a more diverse and innovative format for competition. It incorporates popular offline fitness programs, concurrently setting up online competitions, to create a range of virtual sports and AI-driven activities featuring car racing, cycling, rowing, table tennis, dance, etc. These aim to encourage more people, particularly the younger generation, to participate in and experience the excitement of virtual sporting activities online.

This year's continues adopting a coordinated approach combining a "main venue" and several "side venues". The "main venue" is available on GASC's official website and an upgraded mobile version of the "Sports for All Online Games" mini-program. The "side venues" have been established across many popular Internet platforms, which will host a variety of sports activities to meet the diverse fitness needs and cater to all-sports scenarios for different groups to the maximum extent.

This year's Games has simultaneously organized online sporting events and provide scientific fitness guidance. In collaboration with multiple Internet platforms, the organizers will release over 1,800 fitness guidance videos and a series of short clips on public physical exercises. Furthermore, they will actively integrate cutting-edge technologies such as AI to enhance the interactive experience of online fitness instruction, ensuring participants receive more professional and scientifically sound fitness guidance.
