Entertainment venues and tourist spots in Beijing's Shunyi District have recently been shut down as a measure of COVID-19 prevention and control. In response, Shunyi District Bureau of Culture and Tourism launches a "cloud" tour of Shunyi by means of VR technology. People can take the virtual tour through Shunyi's official tourism account on WeChat, "Shunyi Lvyou" (ID: shunyily).

VR technology provides a bird's eye view of the entire scenic area. Choosing freely between panoramic and partial perspectives, virtual tourists can not only view but have immersive experiences of such attractions as the Beijing International Flower Port, Luo Hong Art Museum, Memorial of Jiaozhuanghu Tunnel Warfare Site, Hanshiqiao Wetland Nature Reserve and Shunyi Cultural Center. People can now enjoy the beauty of Shunyi District's tourist destinations from the comfort and safety of their homes.

In addition, the official account offers a rich variety of cultural and tourist services, including a "Shunyi Impressions" museum, cultural exhibitions, and map of intangible cultural heritage - all online. Visitors can also vote for the best Shunyi souvenir in an online competition via "Shunyi Lvyou".
