I. To implement related laws, regulations and policies of the state and the city.

II. To organize flag-raising activities in the Tiananmen Square; to collaborate with relevant departments in welcoming international guests and holding festival celebrations and events around Tiananmen.

III. To be responsible for the city appearance and environmental sanitation around Tiananmen. To coordinate the work concerning social order, municipal public facilities, urban greening around Tiananmen; to work with relevant departments to protect the cultural relics in this area.

IV. To be responsible for emergency management around Tiananmen.

V. To conduct supervision and inspection on the daily management of relevant departments around Tiananmen.

VI. To carry out unified planning of the service facilities around Tiananmen.

VII. To be responsible for the opening and management of Tiananmen Tower.

VIII. To perform other tasks assigned by the Municipal Party Committee and municipal government.
