Lianhuachi Park (Lotus Pond Park), which is a Beijing Municipal Class I Historic Site Park, is one of the city's most popular summer destinations for admiring lotus flowers. Home to a wide variety of these flowers, the park comes alive in midsummer, evoking a breathtaking scene that is described in a famous Song Dynasty verse: "Green lotus leaves outspread as far as boundless sky, pink lotus blossoms take from sunshine a new dye". Following the footsteps of summer, Madelyn Arnold from Canada recently visited this park to fully soak in the beauty of the blooming lotus flowers and experience the good fortune they represent. Check out the photos she took below!
