Located in Beijing's Mentougou District, Jietai Temple was first built in the fifth year of the Tang Dynasty's Wude era (622 AD) and has a history of more than 1,400 years. Home to the largest Buddhist ordination platform in China, where Bodhisattva precepts can be conferred, the temple is known as having the "first altar in the world" (天下第一坛). Recently, Nauman Sohail, a Pakistani student studying at Capital Medical University in Beijing visited Jietai Temple and captured the beauty of China's ancient architecture through his camera.
