Recently, the Ministry of Finance and other departments issued a notice titled On Improving the Policy for Downtown Duty-Free Shops, which will regulate the management of such shops in accordance with the Interim Measures for the Management of Downtown Duty-Free Shops starting from October 1, 2024. As a result, the number of duty-free shops in downtown Beijing will increase from one to two.

The current downtown duty-free shop is located at L-SA-296, Building 17, Blue Harbor, No. 6 Chaoyang Park, Chaoyang District, Beijing. The new Beijing Foreign Exchange Duty-Free Store will be located at Building 19, Courtyard No. 21, Langfang Toutiao, Xicheng District, within the Beijing Fun area.
