After over seven months of operation, boat services at Shichahai Scenic Area have officially concluded for the year.
This year saw the introduction of new cultural events, including the "Boat-Launching Ceremony on Grain Rain", Dragon Boat Festival races, "Qixi Festival's Love Notes", and "Mid-Autumn Festival Reunions", which attracted numerous visitors. The Water Sports Center on the west side of Houhai also saw a rise in visitors interested in paddleboarding.
A highlight this year was the full 5G coverage on all tourist boats, allowing visitors to enjoy services like one-click ticket purchases, deposit payments, online queuing, self-service boarding, scan-to-start functionality, and automatic checkout in a seamless way.
With the end of the boating season, preparations are underway for the opening of the Shichahai Ice Rink. Expected to be opened around New Year's Day, the rink will span 160,000 square meters, and a dedicated 5,000-square-meter skating training area will be further upgraded.
During the rink's open season, lighting upgrades will be completed on Huxin Islet and at Lotus Market, with approximately 1,000 small ice sleds available for use.
Additionally, Shichahai's official cultural artifact store near the rink will put on shelves a new collection of cultural products inspired by Beijing's Central Axis, where visitors can collect stamps and shop for souvenirs.
