On November 23, the 11th National Public Ice and Snow Season (Beijing) and the series of events for the 11th Happy Ice and Snow Season for Beijing Citizens, as well as the 2024-2025 Beijing Ice and Snow Sports Consumption Season, were launched at the National Speed Skating Oval, also known as the "Ice Ribbon". This event, themed "Passion for Ice and Snow Sports Ignite the Capital", will run throughout the city from this month until April 2025.

Since holding the first session of the Happy Ice and Snow Season event for Beijing citizens in 2014, Beijing authorities have been extensively organizing public ice and snow sports events. So far, it has hosted a total of 35,000 ice and snow activities at various levels, with direct participation by 73.84 million people. Some 1.24 million ice and snow consumption vouchers were issued.
