On July 31, the organizing committee of the 2026 China Open, a tennis tournament, announced the first group of confirmed players, along with the schedule, ticketing policies and other information.

Four Major Events for a Four-Week Tennis Carnival

This year, the China Open will serve as the centerpiece of a four-week tennis carnival, bringing together four major international tennis events.

The event will begin on September 13 with the ITF World Tennis Tour Juniors J300 tournament kicking off first.

Then, starting on September 21, amateur players from around the world will compete together at the ITF World Tennis Masters Tour MT400 Beijing event at the National Tennis Center.

After that, the WTA 1000 and ATP 500 tournaments will run from September 28 to October 11. The ATP singles champion will be crowned on October 6, while the WTA singles final will conclude on October 11.

World-Class Stars Set to Compete at the Event

On the men's side, Jannik Sinner, currently ranked the world's No. 1, will return to Beijing to defend his China Open title. Joining him are Alexander Zverev, a reigning French Open champion and first-time Grand Slam winner who is currently ranked the world's No. 2, Flavio Cobolli, who recently broke into the world's Top 10, and Félix Auger-Aliassime, currently ranked the world's No. 4.

For the female players, there will once again be a 96-player singles draw, with the top 75 players in the WTA rankings earning direct entry. Based on the current rankings, Aryna Sabalenka, who has won four career Grand Slam singles titles and is currently ranked the world's No. 1, former China Open champions Naomi Osaka, Iga Świątek, Coco Gauff, and Amanda Anisimova, as well as Elena Rybakina, a reigning Australian Open champion and Mirra Andreeva, a French Open champion, are all expected to compete in the main draw.

Representing China, Wang Xinyu will lead the home contingent, while Zhang Shuai and Guo Hanyu are expected to compete in the women's doubles event.

Tickets to Go on Sale at 10:00 on August 5

Ticket sales will officially begin at 10:00 on August 5. Registered China Open members who purchase tickets between August 5 and August 18 will enjoy discounts of up to 20 percent. To meet the needs of different fans, the tournament will offer a wide range of ticket options, including combined finals packages (双巅峰决赛套票), the Golden Week time-slot passes (黄金周分时段通票), and the Diamond Mystery Boxes (钻石盲盒), all to be released after ticket sales begin.

Better Game-Watching Experiences with Meals and Souvenirs

The tournament's venue will feature 80 food and beverage outlets. Special spectator areas with lightweight sunshades and ambient lighting will be set up around the West Square and the Lotus Court, while three dedicated lounging zones will allow fans to enjoy world-class tennis matches in comfort in the autumn breeze.

For the merchandise, more than 600 types of products across 12 categories, including souvenirs, tennis equipment, life necessities, and collectible items, will be available through several online channels from August 18, while a 1,000-square-meter flagship store will open on September 12 on site. This year's China Open will also launch exclusive co-branded products with internationally renowned brands, including SIGG, TOPPS, DAKA, and HERE (奇梦岛).
