As the Dragon Boat Festival approaches, let's visit Beijing's time-honored restaurants and snack stores to explore the delicious zongzi (sticky rice dumplings) with new flavors.
Emei Jiujia (Di'anmen Branch)
Here, you can find both the Beijing-renowned Kung Pao chicken zongzi and other types such as those containing jujube and red bean paste, all available for your selection.

Quyuan Jiulou (Xisi Branch)
At this century-old restaurant dedicated to Hunan cuisine, in addition to jujube and red bean paste zongzi, you can also purchase those containing larou (a kind of smoked pork), as well as the newly launched bamboo tube zongzi.

Daoxiangcun
Daoxiangcun offers bagged zongzi with nine different fillings. Two new varieties, the zongzi with Beijing-style shredded pork and those with five colors, are also available now. Many branches also offer freshly cooked hot zongzi, with the addition of "eight-treasure" bamboo tube zongzi.

Donglaishun
Donglaishun has launched multiple gift boxes containing zongzi with fillings made of, such as, country-style purple sweet potatoes, lilies and pumpkins, oats and multigrain, and glutinous rice and lotus seed paste. Those who prefer sweet zongzi are encouraged to try them!

Each of Quanjude's Dragon Boat Festival gift boxes contains zongzi with various fillings, including fresh pork, red bean paste, honey dates, and meat of roasted ducks. (Reservation required!)

Wuyutai Tea Shop has launched two kinds of tea-flavored zongzi gift boxes, featuring fillings such as "matcha + honey dates + red beans", "jasmine tea + egg yolk + beef", and "jasmine tea + meat of pressed ducks".
