A 2-day mini-getaway in Beijing's Fangshan: Millennia-old stone sutra culture, intangible cultural heritage (ICH) craft workshops, mountain hiking, authentic vegetarian cuisine, and heritage banquets... experience it just like that!

Day 1: Stone Sutra Mountain → Yunju Temple → Vegetarian Restaurant → Radiant Grains → Huangshandian Intangible Cultural Heritage Center / Qiulan Book Café → Grandma's Home

On the first day, ascend Stone Sutra Mountain. Hike the 108-step staircase to explore nine Sutra Storage Caves while feeling the palpable weight of history up close. Then admire the "Three Unique Treasures" and "Four Precious Relics" at Yunju Temple, including over 7,000 wooden printing blocks for the Dragon Tripitaka hailed as one of the "Crown Jewel Collections" in China National Archives of Publications and Culture.

Visit the old street near Huangshandian Homestay to savor kiln-fired bread while experiencing botanical indigo dyeing, cloisonné enameling, architectural modeling, smoketree woodslice DIY, ancient papermaking, and printmaking at Huangshandian Intangible Cultural Heritage Center, where all crafted pieces can be taken home as souvenirs.

As evening falls, step into the century-old residence courtyard of Grandma's Home to stand amidst the yard listening to wind whispers while watching flowers sway, pushing open windows to meet mountain vistas and gazing upon the starry night sky.

Day 2: Pofengling Scenic Area → Zhoukoudian Site → Tianyu Villa → Chateau Lion → Capital Outlets Rest Stop

Pofengling Scenic Area, famed for having "North China's most spectacular mountain foliage", exudes a radically different cool charm in summer across its forest sea of 200,000 wild smoketrees and goldenrain trees – with an annual average temperature of 12°C making it a prime destination for heat-escape hiking.

Head to the Zhoukoudian Site Museum to explore ancient caves once inhabited by early humans, as docents share fascinating stories about "Peking Man" mastering fire and crafting stone tools. Currently on display at the museum is the collaborative exhibition "Attack of the Dinosaurs – A Survival Legacy Spanning Hundreds of Millions of Years," presented in partnership with the Zigong Dinosaur Museum.

Nestled in Beijing's suburban Fangshan District, Zhoukoudian Tianyu Villa serves as a leisure resort integrating dining, accommodation, sightseeing, and fruit-picking experiences. Don't miss the Fangshan Intangible Cultural Heritage Banquet! There's also a dedicated children's playground and a petting zoo for kids.

The European architecture and landscaped gardens of Chateau Lion complement each other exquisitely, and wandering through them feels like stepping into a fairy-tale castle, making it an ideal destination for photography enthusiasts and leisurely strolls. Meanwhile, Capital Outlets gathers premium global merchandise where fashion trends, culinary feasts, and everything imaginable cater to an irresistible shopping spree.

For outdoor adventure enthusiasts, venture west from Yunju Temple to Shidu and the Legu Yintan Scenic Area. Here, you can take the plunge with a bungee jump at Juma Amusement Carnival Park or enjoy an adrenaline-pumping ride on a 3.8-kilometer drift course featuring a 180-meter elevation drop. Don't forget to pack a change of clothes for the adventure!
