On October 11, Henriette Reker, Mayor of Cologne, Germany and a winner of the Chinese Government Friendship Award visited Beijing China-Germany Industrial Park (hereinafter referred to as the "Park").
Reker remarked that, upon inspecting the construction site of the Park, she was excited about the achievements of the Park in promoting scientific and technological innovation and industrial development as well as creating an international atmosphere within it. As a sister city of China's capital, Cologne shares an established and long-standing friendship with Beijing. KölnBusiness (the Economic Development Agency of Cologne) has also opened channels for cooperation and exchanges with the Park. Reker further commented that the respective strengths and resources of the two cities will be combined to promote more high-quality Chinese and German enterprises to enhance their cooperation and mutual exchanges.
Reker is the winner of the 2019 Chinese Government Friendship Award. As the first female mayor in the history of Cologne, she has visited China many times since her election in 2015 and is committed to contributing to the friendship and cooperation between China and Germany.
Beijing China-Germany Industrial Park has been broadening two-way communication channels in multiple dimensions and has dispatched three investment-attracting delegations to Germany for exchanges during this year. Moving forward, the Park will deepen its cooperation with Cologne and other sister cities, continuously optimize the international business environment, and create a model demonstration zone for economic and technological cooperation with Germany.
