Recently, Henriette Reker, the mayor of Cologne, Germany, published a message on the official website of the Cologne government, publicly thanking Beijing for donating anti-epidemic materials.

According to the mayor of Cologne, Cologne is the epicenter of the outbreak in Germany and has made great efforts to combat the epidemic. Henriette Reker thanked Beijing for offering help in times of crisis and appreciated Beijing's donation as a model for cooperation between sister cities. She believes that the materials donated by Beijing will play an important role in the fight against the epidemic in Cologne, and hopes Cologne can achieve important results in epidemic prevention and control as soon as possible like Beijing. At the same time, she also expressed gratitude to Michael Josipovic and Meng Zhou who have been instrumental in the communication and coordination between the two cities. Josipovic is the director of Cologne's Economic Promotion Bureau, and the 2013 Chinese Government "Friendship Award" winner. Meng is a consultant of Beijing CPPCC in terms of Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan and overseas Chinese affairs and a onsultant of Cologne municipal government in terms of Chinese affairs.
