On June 10, Beijing's first token factory, the Beijing Yihao Token Factory, was officially launched in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area (also known as Beijing E-Town). Going forward, computing power is expected to become a stable and widely accessible public resource, much like electricity.

Tokens are the basic units of text processed by AI systems, while computing power refers to a server's processing capability. The stronger the computing power, the more tokens can be processed per second, which helps reduce usage costs. In the age of artificial intelligence, computing power has become a core indicator of a country's overall strength.

Unlike traditional factory assembly lines, a token factory consists of rows of servers. Phase I of the project has a daily production capacity of 1.4 trillion tokens. The factory's long-term goal is to reach a daily output of 10 trillion tokens. In the future, it will link up with green electricity bases in Zhangjiakou, Ulanqab, and other locations to build an integrated cluster of computing power for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, which is expected to drastically drive down the threshold for using AI computing power across various industries as production scales up.

The token factory is capable of operating around the clock, delivering outstanding performance on core response metrics. Half of all tasks receive a response within six seconds, while 90 percent of tasks are responded to within ten seconds, with response time fluctuations controlled within 20 percent. This makes the factory fully adaptable to a wide range of complex AI scenarios.

The launch of Beijing Yihao Token Factory in E-Town not only helps address the domestic shortage of large-scale, high-end computing power but also sets an industry benchmark for computing power services and evaluation. It is also expected to attract upstream and downstream AI companies to the area, further strengthening the regional artificial intelligence industry ecosystem.

Alongside the factory's launch, China's first token factory performance benchmark was also released and made open-source to the entire industry. This benchmark is expected to help resolve the current fragmentation of industry standards, reduce resource waste, and drive the domestic AI computing power industry toward more regulated and standardized development.
