Building upon the competition's existing three core units, namely "Science Fiction Technology", "Science Fiction Literature", and "Sci-Fi IP", as well as its "Science Fiction Rising Star" support program, this year's edition focuses on sci-fi gaming and real-world applications, streamlines and optimizes sub-categories, and encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and diverse forms of innovation, aiming to further improve the sci-fi industry's ecosystem.
Of the 6.65-million-yuan prize fund:
3 million yuan is allocated to the "Science Fiction Technology" unit, spanning "Sci-Fi Frontier Technologies" and "Sci-Fi Product Innovation" sub-categories;
1.7 million yuan to the "Science Fiction Literature" unit, covering "Science Fiction Novels", "Science Fiction Novellas & Short Stories", and "Science Fiction Young Adult (YA) Books" sub-categories;
1.35 million yuan to the "Sci-Fi IP" unit, encompassing "Sci-Fi Games" and "Sci-Fi Film & Television" sub-categories; and 600,000 yuan to the "Science Fiction Rising Star" support program, which will be used to incubate 12 selected emerging talents.
Across the seven sub-categories, the top three entries will be selected, yielding 21 award winners in total. The highest individual prize can reach up to 1 million yuan.
As the first comprehensive sci-fi competition based in China with a global vision, the Science Fiction Planet Competition has been successfully held for three editions since 2021. To date, it has cumulatively received over 2,000 project submissions from 14 countries and regions, establishing itself as a key bridge connecting global sci-fi resources.

Meanwhile, Shijingshan District will promote the integrated development of the sci-fi and gaming/e-sports sectors, develop a future digital space innovation pilot zone in Beijing, and strive to achieve a total revenue of 31 billion yuan in the related sectors, driving the high-quality development of the sci-fi industry.
