Established in 2021, the Beijing China-Germany Industrial Park (hereinafter referred to as the "Park") is China's first national-level Sino-German cooperative park featuring the theme of economic and technological cooperation. The Park so far has gathered 73 German-invested enterprises, including 25 "hidden champions", with an annual output value of more than CNY 30 billion.
The water pumps used in the Winter Olympic Games project called "Ice Ribbon" were all produced by Wilo's research and manufacturing base situated in the Park.
The Park is divided into northern and southern sections as planned. The southern section, with a planned area of eight square kilometers, is located to the east of Beijing Capital International Airport and is a gathering place for German "hidden champion" companies and technological service sectors such as the industrial internet. The China-Germany Building there has become home to German companies' key projects such as Bosch Rexroth Industry 4.0 Innovation Center, Rhein-Koster China Headquarters, and Hüller Hille Machine Tool Application R&D Center. The northern section has an area of 12 square kilometers located in the northern part of Shunyi New Town and is home to the intelligent manufacturing base for German new energy vehicles and advanced equipment, including Mercedes-Benz's new energy vehicle, Wilo Group's water pumps, Carl Cloos Robotics, and other projects.
In addition to nearly 5,000 apartments designated for international talent and the planned R4 Line, a number of other facilities like the Sino-German International School, business complexes and international hospitals will also be constructed in the Park.
The Administrative Committee of the Park has been established, with its overseas liaison offices set up in Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt of Germany. Sino-German Intelligent Manufacturing Industry Association and the Chinese & German Experts Consultant Committeehas also been founded. The Park has also set up dialogues with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Development and Reform Commission. It is also currently involved in collaborations with the German Embassy in China, German Chamber of Commerce in China, German Centre, etc. In the future, the Park will become an cluster for German advanced manufacturing industry, a strategic high ground for the development of Chinese and German "hidden champions", and also an important platform for the communication, mutual openness, and innovation of the two countries.
