Beijing has been actively advancing the construction of an international consumption bridgehead centered on the city's two aviation hubs, namely Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) and Beijing Daxing International Airport (PKX), to speed up the development of the city as an international consumption center.

Since the beginning of 2023, Shunyi District has welcomed two new commercial complexes, introduced 25 first stores, and established two delivery centers for new energy vehicles (NEV) which contributed to the clustered development of the district's NEV sector. In addition, the construction of the main structure of the phase II project of the New China International Exhibition Center (NCIEC) has been completed, while the investment promotion for the phase III project has achieved progress in an accelerated fashion, which will stimulate the vigorous development of upstream and downstream industries in the business exhibition sector.

Beijing Daxing International Airport, located nearly 70 kilometers from Beijing Capital International Airport, has also formed its unique consumption atmosphere. The terminal building with rich business formats makes every passenger feel like being in a mall. In the vicinity of Beijing Daxing International Airport, two major complexes, an international-level convention and exhibition center, and an international consumption hub, will be built to provide every consumer with a richer consumption experience.

These two aviation hubs serve as crucial links connecting domestic and international domains and ensure seamless "dual circulation". They are also significant spaces for supplying medium- and high-end goods and services, implementing iconic projects of international consumption, and cultivating new global consumption growth points. The two aviation hubs will contribute to Beijing's high-quality development with an opener approach.
