Economic growth

According to preliminary calculation, Beijing's GDP in 2019 was 3537.13 billion yuan, an increase of 6.1% over the previous year, calculated at comparable prices.

The employment situation was stable. The surveyed urban unemployment rate was kept within 4.5%, which was 4.0% in the fourth quarter.

A total of 351,000 new urban jobs were created, exceeding the target.

Prices rose modestly, with the city's consumer prices rising 2.3% from a year earlier.

Residents' income grew faster than GDP. The city's per capita disposable income increased by 6.4% in real terms, 0.2 percentage points faster than GDP. 

Fiscal revenue

The general public budgetary financial revenue amounted to RMB 581.71 billion, up by 0.5% over the previous year. Of which, value-added tax amounted to RMB 182.09 billion, up by 1.6%; the corporate income tax and the individual income tax reached RMB 122.85 billion and 54.42 billion respectively, down by 4.6% and 25.3% respectively.
