Hello. The Exit-Entry Administration Department is responsible for handling the change or renewal of visas or residence permits for foreigners in China. The main document you need to provide when applying for this service at our office is the "Visa Application for Study in China" (commonly known as the JW201/JW202 form) or a letter of consent to study in China issued by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission (please consult the Education Commission or relevant departments on whether a criminal record clearance certificate is required for the application of the consent letter. The online application website for this certificate is: https://gaj.beijing.gov.cn, under ''Government Services'' (政务服务) - ''I Want to Apply''(我要办) - ''Exit-Entry Services'' (出入境业务) - ''Foreigners' Application for Criminal Record Inquiry''(外国人申请查询犯罪记录). You can also apply at the Exit-Entry counter. Additionally, for applying a residence permit valid for more than one year, a health examination certificate from a designated institution by the General Administration of Customs is required.
