A driver holding a motor vehicle driving license issued in Beijing should apply for renewal and verification of their motor vehicle driving license within 90 days before the expiry of the motor vehicle driving license.
►The identity document of the motor vehicle driver; where an agent is authorized to handle the application on behalf of the driver, the identity document of the agent must also be submitted. If the application form is not signed by the principal, a power of attorney may be submitted separately. The paper version of attorney is not required to be submitted if the application has been completed through the "交管12123" app.
►A "A "Driver Physical Condition Certificate" issued by medical institutions with physical examination qualifications such as hospitals at or above grade two, township health centers, community-based healthcare service centers, or medical institutions above regiment level designated by military and armed police forces; where an applicant is holding a driving license for a Small Automatic Passenger Vehicle For People With Disabilities, the applicant shall submit a "Driver Physical Condition Certificate" issued by a specialized medical institution as designated by the Beijing Municipal Health Commission; the paper version of "Driver Physical Condition Certificate" is not required to be submitted if the applicant’s information has been uploaded online.
►3 photos of the motor vehicle driver. (Photo requirements: straight-sided, full-face, bareheaded, colored, one-person, half-length photos of the applicant taken within 6 months of the application. The background color must be white; the applicant must not be in uniform; and the portrait must be clear, rich in layers, neutral in facial expression, and free of obvious distortions. The photo size must be 32mm × 22mm (equivalent to 1 inch), the head width must be 14-16 mm, and the head length must be 19-22 mm.)
Foreigners who have changed their names, nationalities, or identity documents, and diplomatic personnel shall apply at the Vehicle Management Office. Other foreigners may apply at the Vehicle Management Office or a Vehicle Management Branch Office.
Others shall apply at the vehicle management office and its branches, the offices/stations of vehicle management (offering driving license service) of traffic management detachments or brigade, postal agencies, or government affairs service centers;
Users who have registered on "交管12123" app can log into "交通安全综合服务管理平台" (www.122.gov.cn) or "交管12123" for application. Drivers who are 60 or older can use their family members' or friends' account on "交管12123", or make application by their friends or family members on "交管12123" app.
After the renewal, the applicant can log in the personal account on "交管12123" APP to apply for a digital driving license. The applicant with the existing driving license need to make another application.

►Where an applicant is holding a driving license for a Large Bus,a Towing Heavy Trailer, a Tractor, a City Bus, a Medium-Sized Bus, or a Large Freight Vehicle, the applicant must not have accumulated any points during the current scoring cycle. Where an applicant is holding a driving license for any other permitted vehicle type, the applicant must not have accumulated 12 points or more during the current scoring cycle;
►Where an applicant is holding a driving license for a Large Bus, a Towing Heavy Trailer, a Tractor, a City Bus, a Medium-Sized Bus, or a Large Freight Truck and has accumulated points during the current scoring cycle, or where an applicant is holding a driving license for any other permitted type and has been equally or more liable for a traffic accident causing death before, the applicant must not have had their motor vehicle driving license revoked and must have participated in "verification education";
►The applicant has no pending record of a violation of road traffic safety laws or a traffic accident;
►The applicant's physical conditions meet the requirements for a driving permit;
►An applicant aged 70 or above that passes the memory, judgement and reaction skill tests;
►The applicant's motor vehicle driving license has not been legally seized, impounded, suspended, revoked, canceled, or withdrawn.
►Where a driver holding a motor vehicle driving license issued by another province or city is applying for renewal and verification of their motor vehicle driving license upon expiration in this city, the driver must, in addition to meeting the above conditions, apply for transfer-in renewal of the license.

The Meaning of Identity Document
△ The identity document for a Hong Kong or Macao SAR resident shall be the "Residence Permit for Hong Kong or Macao Residents". Or the applicant holds the "Mainland Travel Permit for Hong Kong and Macao Residents" or the "Travel Permit of the People's Republic of China" issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with the accommodation registration certificate issued by the public security organs;
△ The identity document for a Taiwan resident shall be the "Residence Permit for Taiwan Residents". Or the applicant holds the "Mainland Travel Permit for Taiwan Residents" which must be valid for the next five years, or the "Travel Permit of the People's Republic of China" issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with the accommodation registration certificate issued by the public security organs;
△ The identity document for Chinese citizens living abroad shall be the "Passport of the People's Republic of China" along with the accommodation registration certificate issued by the public security organs;
△The identity document for a foreigner is the valid passport or any other international travel document used for entry, a valid visa or residence permit with a staying period of at least three months, along with the accommodation registration certificate issued by the public security organs; or the foreigner's permanent residence card;
△ The identity document for a staff member of a foreign embassy or consulate in China's mainland or of a representative office of an international organization in China's mainland shall be a valid identity document issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
